Airboy, born Ayomide Odebunmi, is a Nigerian afro-fusion artiste who hails from Ekiti State. He is signed to Aquila Records alongside label-mates Base One and Que Peller.
Airboy only clocked 20 in November (2017), but he has been singing since he was a kid, having been influenced by songs played around the house while growing up. Songs from music legends like King Sunny Ade, Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Chief Ebenezer Obey, Bob Marley, amongst others.
Airboy is blessed with a unique voice and a dynamic sound which stands his music out. He blends an African originality with a very urban and youthful vibe as depicted in monster hit, Ayepo.
Ayepo was released in September 2016 as he was unveiled as Aquila Records’ newest act, and it has since become a Listener’s Favorite, peaking at No 5 on iTunes Africa’s most popular songs.
Since Ayepo, he’s also dazzled on follow up singles Nawo Nawo and Showcase featuring labelmates Que Peller and Base One.
His newest single ‘Ayepo RMX’ is off his forthcoming EP titled VIBES. Ayepo RMX features Burnaboy, it is produced by Phantom, and its colorful and vibrant video is directed by Adasa Cookey.
