BIOGRAPHY

Ycee is an African artiste born and raised in the city of Lagos, Nigeria on January 29, 1993. His real name is Oludemilade Martin Alejo.
He got entwined in music at an early age and got his first major shot in 2012, when he got signed to Tinny Entertainment as the label’s pioneer artiste. His first single ‘Smile on Me’ was released later that year and was followed by two more singles. In 2014, he took a break from music to focus on his academics.
Ycee returned in 2015 with monster hits including ‘Condo’ featuring Patoranking and earned nominations in the ‘best collaboration of the year’ and ‘best music video of the year’ categories at the 2015 NEA.
Condo was followed closely by ‘Jagaban’, ‘Jagaban’ Remix which featured Olamide and ‘Omo Alhaji’ which all became number one hits in Nigeria and various regions in Africa.
In the same year, he also bagged nominations for the ‘Revelation of the year Award’ at the 2015 MTV African Music Awards and ‘Best Artist in African pop’ at the 2015 All African music Awards. He capped the year by winning the ‘Rookie of the Year award’ at the 2015 Headies.
In 2016, Ycee’s debut EP ‘The First Wave’ was released in collaboration with Sony Music Entertainment. He signed an endorsement deal with Tech Company, Samsson Telecom as their celebrity ambassador; and also coined an endorsement deal with Cognac brand ‘Hennessy’.
In 2017, he released another chart topping song ‘Juice’ off the EP and got listed on Billboard’s ‘Next Big Sound’.
